For the layman (or the lazy like me), his work involves computer simulated neural networks and machine learning. Hinton is the great-great-grandson of Mathematician George Boole (1815-1864), famous for Boolean logic, one of the fundamental ideas of Digital Engineering. I would like to further develop Hinton's work later in my degree.
